    My name is John Prisaznuk and I began the Balanced Coaching program because I needed to get control over my food intake. At my heaviest, my weight had ballooned to 353 pounds, on a 5´6´ frame. Not a pretty picture. I tried everything, lots of fads, fasting, starving myself, the grapefruit diet, the Scarsdale diet and others. When I was about 18 I even tried eating ONLY on the weekend, and fasting Monday through Friday! How ridiculous was that!

    I chose Balanced Body Foods and the Balanced Coaching nutrition program because it seemed manageable, the macros were counted out the food was prepped and fresh and I do not enjoy cooking! I know how to cook simple foods, but find it very time consuming and I have a job that keeps me very busy. I have learned that nutrition is part science and that food should be seen as fuel. I cannot just eat whatever I want, but I CAN have foods that I love.

    For years I ate for emotional reasons, some I have discovered, some I probably have yet to discover. I am still a work in progress. I have learned that not to compare my body to anyone else, to put my blinders on. I have also learned that life happens. That I have to keep going and not get stuck in ¨poor me¨. I have learned that my body is MY body and I am responsible for what I put into it. I have also learned that my body needs balance. Balance with food, exercise, and rest. I need to know that I can have healthy, nutritious meals and use them for fuel.

    What I love most about Balanced Body meals is the fact that macros and calories are calculated for me. I love the variety of foods, and that if I need a sweet now and then, Balanced Body has dessert choices, too. I love that I don’t have to cook, meal prep and clean up. So far what I have achieved is losing about 17 pounds. More importantly, what I have taken away from the program is the realization that food is fuel, and that there is always room for improvement. I have learned that sometimes emotions that are tied to food have to be addressed through other venues, like professional counseling. Something else I have taken away from the program is that I need to always be aware of what I put into my body, (Food is Fuel), but also strive to live my best life and enjoy it. (Life Happens).

    I feel passionate about this program and coaching because as someone who has struggled with food intake for the more than 40 years, I felt like it was time to face the facts about food, and find that balance. But I needed someone to help me. I am a work in progress. I need to eat for the rest of my life. I will continue to learn how important it is to be aware of calories and macros, but not obsess about it, and enjoy my best life. The coaching aspect is critical to this program. I cannot do this on my own. My coach has been with me every single step of the way. She celebrates with me, encourages me, teaches me, and sometimes tells me things that are hard for me to hear, and I know its out of love and concern for me and my well being.

    Nutrition Coach

    Sarah is one of our Certified Nutrition Coaches at Jada Blitz Fitness and Balanced Body. She's been a part of the Jada team since 2022 and a gym member since 2015. She loves to cook and create healthy foods and recipes. Sarah enjoys recreating healthier versions of some of our most guilty food pleasures.

    Jada Blitz Fitness and Balanced Body Foods are the first establishments Sarah has ever worked as a Certified Nutrition Coach. Her love of food and healthy living led her to pursue Nutrition. Sarah played soccer and was a goalkeeper at Buffalo State College her freshman year. During her sophomore year, she had to stop play because of her concussion history. This led her to working out at Jada Blitz Fitness to stay active.

    Sarah truly believes that food is fuel. What we put into our body affects the outcome. Because so many people have an unhealthy relationships with food. Sarah wants to educate them about food, how it affects their bodies, and the results they see in and outside the gym.

    What we put into our bodies is what we get out. Properly nourishing our bodies is crucial in achieving our goals and living a healthy lifestyle.

    Sarah attended SUNY Buffalo State College and graduated with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. She is also a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach.
